Cloudkicker's Message Board
Hey there, Disney Afternooners! How are you all doing?

I'd like to let you all know that you are all welcome to visit the Cloudkicker's Message Board. It's not exactly new, started it in 2008 with Tom Cloudkicker.
Things have been slow around there these days, and we have been trying to find ways to promote the board better and to let other TaleSpin fans know we are still out there. Though our link is on the Unofficial Kit Cloudkicker Homepage and under the TaleSpin Wikipedia page, I thought it would be good to give here directly too, for those that really don't know about it. So, feel free to join us, and bring a friend. It would be cool to see some of you there. Even if your main favorite Disney Afternoon toon isn't TaleSpin, it would be great to see some of you Disney afternoon fans in general there to talk with us! Here is the link:

Thanks :)

Rescue Rangers return!
Apparently, this news is about a month old, but I just heard about it tonight. I didn't see it posted here yet, so I thought I'd share ...

Due to the success of the "Darkwing Duck" series, the Rescue Rangers will be getting their own comic book series this December! (There's another article about the upcoming series here.)

GB 25
This is probably as good a time as ever to note that today is the 25th anniversary of the launch of Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears, which is tied for the honor of being Disney's first animated series. So before the last few minutes of the day slip by, I'll lob my usual tribute at you, my dear readers- you can see it right here...Collapse )

Getting Dangerous... in the comics!
Darwking Duck gets mini-series from BOOM! Comics.

Oh, I'm so buying the hell out of this series. I was hoping this would happen ever since they referenced St. Canard in the first Ultraheroes issue. Normally, I'd only buy the two covers for the first issue and just pick and choose the single cover for each issue after that, but I want a regular Darkwing Duck series, so I'm going to buy both covers of each issue.

An anniversary...
Ten years ago- well, really, it was February 29th, but as we don't have one of those this year, it falls to today... I suppose it should have fallen to yesterday but I didn't have everything ready then. Anyhow, where was I? Ah yes. Ten years ago... a particular direct-to-video sequel came out, one of many that were produced by a certain entertainment company over the years. This one was significant to me, though, for it continued a storyline involving two of my favorite characters. These two, of course, had been in a TV series and a feature-length film before, and while the sequel wasn't as good as the movie that came before it, it had its moments. I still give it a watch from time to time.

And so, on this auspicious occasion, though I haven't done one of those picture mosaic things in a while, I decided this was as good a time as any. And here it is...Collapse )

Disney Duck Fan Fiction
I hope this is okay to post here, but I wanted to put this out there for fans of the Disney ducks (DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, Quack Pack, Don Rosa, Carl Barks, the duck comics, etc...) who like to write and/or discuss fic about them.

I just created a Disney duck fic community - disneyduckfics and any fan of the Disney ducks is welcome to join!

I had to stop posting my DuckTales/Darkwing Duck crossover fic on Fan Fiction Net due to getting viruses on my pc from ads on the site, so I created this community for fans of the Disney ducks to post their fic.

The Unofficial Kit Cloudkicker Homepage has been completely moved....
You can now officially bookmark the Unofficial Kit Cloudkicker Homepage to: http://cloudkicker.50webs.com/ because I have officially deleted every single file in both my gregoryweagle and davkim.geo subdomains. Don't worry; the files were already backed up to an SD Card well before hand; as one of Joseph Greenlee's fanfics that was STILL on the server (I deleted the fanfic link from the Kit Cloudkicker Fanfics page; but I didn't delete the fanfic; sadly; Almost Paradise WAS deleted for some unknown reason as was the LesMiserables artwork. Probably due to the file being corrupted or something and was deleted long before I started backing up the files.). So Operation Unofficial Save Kit Cloudkicker Website has been a complete success and Phase V is officially 100% completed. While I couldn't save the original counter; I didn't insert a brand new counter and hopefully; one that will work well. And that is officially that now. Thank goodness that crisis is over! Now I can go back to doing rants and correcting mistakes in the Rant Shack instead of having to worry over some web host deciding to screw the customer over and cutting their services to customers. Thank you to the fans who convinced me not to KILL the website either. And thank 50 Webs for having a web service hosting site that I could count on in these situations. And just to note; I still have 33.71 MB of space left on 50 Webs; so I have lots to use in case I need to unretire the UKCHP; or need space for the Rant Shack.

The Plunder and Lightning Movie Re-Rant is completed and posted...

Holy Cow! This file is almost as big as some of my fanfics. A couple of warnings...this rant contains the following forbidden content:

- Profanity against adults and small children
- Violence against the ranter
- Implied Violence on certain characters
- Obscene puns
- Obscene sarcasm
- Mild Kit Cloudkicker character bashing
- Vicious bashing of Michael Eisner in general
- Nice comments about the Jonas Brothers (sort of)
- Sean Malstrom like wall of text and
- Glorification of furries in general

You have been warned...Do not read this if any of this content offends you or makes you violent; particually if you are a Kit fan, Baloo fan or a Disney purist in general. For the rest of you; enjoy and comment please

TaleSpin T-Shirt @ Hot Topic

Randomly walking through the Westminster (Calif.) Mall, I stopped into Hot Topic, and to my surprise, there were selling TaleSpin T-shirts!  The price tag said $19.00, but they had my size (Large)...so I had to jump on it.

To my delightful surprise, when they rang it up, it was only $8.98.  Then, I pulled out my filled-up frequent customer card (Are they still giving those out?  I never got one back...), and that was another 15% off.  So, grand total: $8.22!

Of course, it is electric blue; I haven't worn a shirt in that color in, oh, 15 years or so.  Still, I follow my mantra:  "If it feels good, do it."

So, yay for serendipity!

Say whaaaat?
Apparently there's this website called Mogulus that allows people to broadcast their own online "tv channels." I'm not sure how it all works, but I do know this:

Classic Toon Disney. Shows run from 5-10 PM on weekdays and 12-11 PM on weekends (Eastern Time). The lineup includes (among others) Darkwing Duck, Aladdin, Quack Pack, Goof Troop, and even some non-Disney shows like Digimon and The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

But the best part?

'Scuse me while I do the Dance of So Much Happy. And sorry if you all already knew about this, but I looked back a few pages and didn't find anything.

New Darkwing Merchandise? HOLY--
Cross-posted from get_dangerous

Okay so it's only one thing. x3 But! It's still awesome to see that Disney has NOT forgotten about DW!

DisneyShopping.com has put out this beauty of a piece:

"Shine a light of hope through the darkness with our super Darkwing Duck Snowglobe. Drake Mallard appears to be an average citizen of St. Canard, but when danger is near he dons the secret-identity of Darkwing Duck, defender of the weak; champion of truth and justice! With his ward Gosalyn and sidekick, Launchpad McQuack, ''DW'' casts a wide web across the city, goosing-up the beastly schemes of Taurus Bulba and his ilk. Imported."

Detail pics under the cut!Collapse )

The snowglobe retails for about $59.50 US...between this and Electric Tiki's Mini Statue of DW being released in spring of 2009, Darkwing Fans are getting treated to a couple of high quality knicknacks in both the present and the coming year.

Update on Darkwing Maquette
Yesterday I posted about the Darkwing Duck Maquette from Electric Tiki. Well, I poked around the site and found there is a place you can pre-order the maquette and get a better look at what it'll look like

Be forewarned, the statue is $99.99.
